Hibiscus Surprise

 Posted by Picasa

Another mystery solved. And in hindsight, I don't know why I didn't recognize the buds. But the great surprise of my Sunday morning was the opening of this fabulous pink blossom. It's a hibiscus, I believe, or some close relative from the mallow family. So far there's only the one flower, about five inches or more across. I've found plenty more of these growing in the margin of the meadow area, so there'll be plenty more of these to come.
