A Garden Near Season's End

 Posted by Picasa

Here's the garden this misty morning, looking overgrown and a bit bedraggled. As other shots will show, there are still things blooming occasionally, but the paths need mowing and yesterday's rain beat things down pretty well. There's no denying autumn's on the way. On the other hand, the heavy rains also inspired flower budding on both the Montauk daisy and the chrysanthemums, and an assortment of other things. The show is far from over.

They say the rain will return later today, and a coastal flooding advisory has already been posted. On the television, they just mentioned a Tropical Storm advisory for the area tomorrow, as Ophelia is once again on the move.
