On my long mental list of things to do this season is a makeover of the old garden shed. I had been thinking of painting it, inside and out...but my terrific Other Half found some old cedar shingles in the basement, and yesterday enjoyed some time in the sun shingling the outer walls of the shed. It's like a whole new building! Now I'll only have to think about painting the trim, and perhaps a coat of whitewash inside to clean things up a bit...and of course, getting some morning glories to climb the front of it!
I went out into the garden as fast as I could this morning, knowing rain was on the way...but as you can see, the rain got there first!

Here's another look at the Coronation Gold yarrow, growing ever taller and closer to blooming from this week's combination of rain and warm sunshine.

My pal Heidi is craftsperson, one of those who's media of choice (well, among other things...I wish someone would pay her mucho dinero for her fabulous Fish Painting...) is polymer clay.
She recently sent me this terrific bracelet with handmade beads...actually, it was a fun sort of challenge: I asked her to make something interesting and fun, which I would then find a creative, plant-related use for. After some consideration, it has become a lovely bit of bling for some of my hanging houseplants.
I've asked her to share a link, if one exists, of other samples of her work, which are occasionally available on Ebay...and will update this entry if such a link should become available.
A closer image follows below to show off her craftspersonship. The Midnight Gardener thanks you, Heidi!!!
