Poet Stanley Kunitz won a Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award in 1959. In 1968, he and a number of other artists formed the
Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. He served two turns as U.S. Poet Laureate (one before that title was bestowed on the position). He was also one of our more well-know local gardeners. Stanley Kunitz passed away this weekend. He was 100.
Photographer Marnie Crawford Samuelson Posted by Picasa"It's imperative for any gardener to respect the land before alterations, modifications or plans for the design of the garden are made. If a garden doesn't fit into that landscape and reflect it in some way, it's an invasion, an occupation."
