Gray Wednesday

Even as December approaches, this last chrysanthemum blossom hangs on...the last flower of the season, it seems.

Of course, there's signs of hope about next season already, as I've spotted some fresh foliage coming from the grape hyacinth bulbs I planted a few weeks back.

Here's a shot of Boat Creek marsh taken on my way to work this morning. It was kind of a gray, overcast day. Temps still pretty nice, tho...in the 50s today, with more predicted for tomorrow. Staying as nice as it has, we continue to see a big contingent of frogs on the shore of our little fish pond each night.

And meanwhile, tonight in New York City, a norway spruce from Connecticut received the greatest honor its kind can hope for, when the 2006 Rockerfeller Center Christmas Tree was illuminated.
