Ducks Return

By the next morning, our snow only lingered in the places where sunshine couldn't find it. The pond was lightly frozen in places, but with plenty of open water.

Further proof of the advancing season came with the siting of eight ducks on the pond. They're still as shy as ever about photographers.

I was particularly amused by the duck prints I found on the pond's slushy ice.
