After work this afternoon, I managed to get out in the late day light and venture back into the garden in the field. I wanted to look for crocuses, but also knew that it was time to do some raking. It's a bit of a mess out there, so the raking was a task only half-begun, but begun nonetheless.
Found a nice trio of snow crocuses preparing to open for my troubles.

After reminiscing recently about childhood afternoons spent perched in an apple tree reading comic books (see my other blog, MEANWhile for details), I couldn't resist climbing up into one of the apple trees out there and sitting for a few minutes in the fading sunshine.

I'm always impressed with just how grand this clump of yucca is. It has to have been growing here for a pretty long time.
