Easter Sunday

Well, it was a nice sunny Easter here, even if the temperature never rose about 43 degrees.

With the breeze, it seems a little chilly to think about planting any pansies, so I've yet to seek any out. All the stores seem to have moved them back inside, despite their being pretty hardy, so I think I'll wait a few days on that.

Still, the garden offers the usual early season views...like this purple crocus, alongside daffodil and primrose foliage.

Here, the green striped leaves are clumps of Star of Bethlehem, and the red in between are the early sprouts of spiderwort.

With a little more warmth (which is not predicted) and a bit of rain (not sure about that--but I've heard the S word tossed about again), we could see this hyacinth in bloom by the weekend. By the way, the white one around back of the house has not yet opened, either. Who can blame it? Meanwhile, we do have a nice holiday pot of hyacinths inside the house, so one way or another, we should see some blooms this week.

Some more daffodil foliage arises from a nice bed of myrtle.

In the back garden, a new cluster of yellow crocuses prepare to bloom at the feet of a rose bush.
