Another beautiful morning here, but alas, a work day. Still, the drive in was a lovely one, partly because so many people's yards have displays like these tulips to enjoy along the way.

On the way home from work this afternoon, I stopped for a look out across Cape Cod Bay, from the boat launch at Rock Harbor.
I was lucky enough to glance down into the water's edge, and spied these horseshoe crabs. Yes, those two on the left do seem to be getting, shall we say, intimate?

Flowering fruit trees abound round these parts lately, which could almost distract you from the fact that the maples and a few other varieties have fully leafed out while I was busy looking elsewhere.

At home once more, I discovered our sunbathing turtles were back for another afternoon basking.

I will not apologize for including them. Dandelions are among the many pretty flowers I welcome to the world that is my garden. How could you not love these brilliant yellow blooms?
In case your tastes are a little more refined, I'll also call your attention to these pretty wine-colored creeping phlox blooms, which are just beginning their show.
I didn't accomplish a great deal outside today, but I had checked out the forecast for the next week, which includes only a few slight chances for showers...so I connected together some great lengths of garden hose and gave the back garden a well-deserved drink.

Under our larger forsythia are a collection of old bulbs planted long before we arrived...mostly an assortment of hyacinths. In that mix today, a tiny red tulip appeared.

Dinner tonight was courtesy of the Hunan Gourmet, so off I drove back to Orleans for the pick-up. On the way, I discovered a rather thick fog bank now moving in off the bay, as seen here over Boat Creek Marsh.

The cherry trees along West Road are now coming into bloom, creating that pink tunnel I love driving through every spring.
