A yellow calendula joined the show this morning. Talk about your quiet beauties.

Here's a shot of the garden from the south, showing off the freshly mowed paths and the new birdbath finally installed last evening. I decided the best choice was to combine an inexpensive but sturdy terra cotta pot with a plastic birdbath liner in the top...and hopefully it will be a popular addition to the garden.
I was out in the garden pretty early this morning to do some mowing. After so many rainy and busy days in a row, all the grass was starting to look pretty tall and untidy. Looks nice now, though...and Edging the Paths is on the list for tomorrow's goals.

In another part of the garden, the heliotrope's cousin, Jupiter's Beard, aka Red Valerian, aka centranthus rubrum has also come into bloom, it's tiny red flowers contrasting happily with the yellow marigolds at its feet.
