One gardener's observations, discoveries and random thoughts whilst simultaneously worshipping and dallying in a Cape Cod garden. "A garden," said Ralph Waldo Emerson, "is like those pernicious machineries which catch a man's coatskirt or his hand, and draw in his arm, his leg and his whole body to irresistable destruction."

I've known since high school the restorative power of solitude. To be able to have it outdoors is a rare event for me these days in the suburbs. Your posts have inspired me to take Sunday afternoons as a time in the gardens of an art center, reading on a bench by the river. (I oughta do a post about it myself.) Thank you for the inspiration.
Yay for your continued smobriety. Hope you are having a sunshiny weekend.
Birdie, thanks! It's cool to hear that I've inspired you to find that time for yourself. It's so important. Sounds like a beautiful spot, too! Like always, I look forward to reading your posts.
Yay back at you, Mister Tweener, for yours, too! Hope your weekend's a great one, too!
Lovely, and with a peaceful grace. Thank you.
That may be your best sunflower photo yet! I love the detail and the range of color, from the bright yellow petals around the outside to the green in the center. Very nice!
A very interesting flower the pink clover is. The sunflower has a nice contrast to the deep blue sky in the background. And the bee must be having a "field day."
Wow, look at all the excellent texture of that first sunflower center. I'd be interested if you did a close zoom into it, of just the center bit how that would look...
Very cool.
