Roadside America

Suddenly, it was Saturday, and time to bid farewell to the Adirondacks once again. The trip south included a sidebar through the Lake George area, in search of cheap gas prices. I also found Paul Bunyan.

In this part of the world, there's a neon, honky-tonk sensibility. History can be found at Fort William Henry, but also in every business sign you care to glance at.

It's not hard to picture Chingatchgook with a change belt, as you make your way through the traffic, past the mini golf courses, theme parks midways and souvenir stands.
