An overcast Sunday morning here, with cooler temps than lately. I took the opportunity to fight this nasty cold with an extra large glass of OJ, a second cup of coffee and the latest new garden catalog, this one from Plant Delights Nursery. It's another great resource, with great plants, terrific photos and some good culture information...not to mention good humor and plenty of inspiration!! It's the perfect way to jumpstart those gardener's instincts, which may only just be warming up with the season itself.

With the forecast warning of heavy rains to come, I wasn't to be kept inside, though. Knowing it'd rain later, I did some transplanting of perennials (no divisions, or otherwise strenuous treatment, just location changes...), moving some sweet william, bellflowers, phlox, foxglove, and spider wort into spots where they might be better showcased. This is where it gets fun..."building the garden", imagining the pretty pictures you might be making. Trying to visualize all the different heights, bloom times, colors. Always fun to see how it turns out!
