Things to Come

I've discovered the first bud on the assortment of giant alliums I planted in the fall. I've never grown any of this variety before, so it's great fun to watch them emerge.

Of course, I've grown asiatic lilies for a long time (though I think its hard to take credit with that "grown" verb, since all I really do is plant them and watch...and mutter as I pick off the occasional lily leaf beetle), but I never grow tired of watching them explode on the scene each spring.
