I was standing on the porch in our yard, enjoying the sounds of all the birds coming out of hiding for a break from the morning's heavy downpour. I could hear this loud roaring sound, and realized that it was nearly high tide, so I grabbed the camera and drove over to Nauset Light Beach to see for myself.

The top of the stairs to the beach was as close as I was willing to get to the ocean today. The wind's blowing like crazy, even though the rain has at least temporarily subsided, and it was much easier walking back to the car, with the wind pushing me along, then it had been walking toward the sea when I first arrived.
