Sunny Blue Tuesday

There were some false starts today. I'm told before dawn a wicked little thunder and lightning storm passed over us with heavy rains. Typically, I slept through it. There were a few passing showers later on in the morning, but then, as you can see...this afternoon the sun came out!!

Today, a host of these lovely little...and I mean they are tiny...blue flowers have begun blooming amongst the strawberry vines out back. I don't know their names (anyone recognize this flower...?), but I think I'm in love!

Blue seemed to be a theme today, like the blue sky. This stalk of blue ajuga in the front garden bed is a fabulous deep blue you just don't see in garden plants often enough.

Our garden goes through color stages. We've been through the blueish purple and now we are headed to the white and then the different rhodies. It is so beautiful. Love your photos!

I've always been fascinated with the way different colors unfurl together as the season progresses. The daffodils bloom with the forsythia, then the cherry trees with the tulips, and then all the blues of hyacinths and primroses...and then purple rhodos and lilacs...it's what they ought to mean when they talk about Intelligent Design.
