A Rose To Scent The Path

It was another early morning today, with only time for the briefest visit with the front garden on the way to the car.

In addition to continuing waves of purple from the spiderwort and bloody cranesbill, this morning the great sprawling rose bush sports its first flower. As is often the case with my favorites, I long for some future digital camera which will capture a photo, and a scent, as well.

Here's one of the pink dainthus, up close and personal. So many different varieties are coming into bloom this week. I hope to get some close-ups of the other varieties. The sweet williams are getting started too, and there's really some great contrasts to be found there, as well.
