There's a lot going on in this picture. There's a pair of pink twin foxgloves growing in front of my old rustic "DNA" trellace, now almost completely covered in miniature rose canes. There are marigolds and allyssum, and another one of those great yellow irises, with more to follow. Somewhere in there, you can see the silver needle-y foliage of a curry plant, growing nicely from the seedling I introduced a year or so ago.
The peonies are sporting heavy buds and you can see the dwarf white allium peeking out and swooping up from the lower right hand corner you can see some green stalks and buds of tickseed, which should be blooming sometime in the next couple of days.
I was sort of worried about this blue jay, when I first spotted it, as it appeared to be injured. However, after a few minutes of lying in the sun with its wings spread, it stood up and flew off easily into the trees, leading me to decide I'd simply missed it's visit to one of the birdbaths.
On the way home from work at the other end of the day, I was lucky enough to catch this much nicer sunset shot over Boat Creek Marsh in Eastham, around 8:30 p.m.
