By late afternoon, I'd finished The Book (it was fantastic: everything the last in the series ought to be!) and made my way out to see what the garden had to offer.
I've left the above photo file on the large size, so you can "embiggen" it to see just who it was besides me I found visiting the Orchard Garden this evening. I'm not worried about his presence; I couldn't find any evidence of nibbling, and anyway, he's entitled to some.
Outside the kitchen door blooms the last of our orange asiatic lilies, with the beautiful jewel tones of our multi-colored hydrangea as background.
