Perfect Morning

It was a cool start for the day, our temperature having dropped to sixty as the last of the humidity fled overnight. But the day was bright and clear...warm, with nice breezes...just one of those delightful days, you know?

On that sort of day, new blossoms are a special treat, so I was happy with the latest Shasta Daisy (variety, Becky, above) and this fresh new cosmos blossom.

Even this fading black-eyed Susan had a certain beauty, though.

L to R, above: Milkweed, the Oregano That Ate Eastham (*white flowered), Rudbeckia and African Marigold.

This sulphur cosmos was a nice surprise, since I hadn't planted any this year. Always nice when the kids from 2006 come back for a surprise visit.

This pic below will be my latest upload to BugGuide.net. I'd taken it for the larger pest front and center, but then later spotted the rather creepy little greenish spider to the right.
