Tuesday Morning

Red dianthus makes a return performance after mid-summer deadheading.

This different variety of black-eyed susan is smaller and more delicate than some of the varieties I've found here. It grows on the edge of the path, where I assume it seeded itself.

This spring I noticed that the agastache was not doing especially well, as much of the plant seemed to have suffered a die-out. I dug up and transplanted what remained, discarded the dead part, and replanted in a lower part of the garden...and now the little offspring that remained has offered a single flower...a sign of good things for the future, I hope.
