Great parade photography! It looks like most of the town came out to enjoy it together. Thanks for the Patriotic music too, the Civil War Soundtrack songs are a favorite of mine!

Great photos and nice weather! However, the woman with the coffee didn't looked too pleased that she had her photo taken. ;-)

The whole town, plus a few surrounding towns, as well, Amy!! Glad you enjoyed the tunes - love those old Civil War songs m'self.

Afod, thanks to the wonder of digital zoom, I don't believe she knew I was taking her photo. I do hope the coffee helped her!!

You know it's a great parade when you have the Shriners and bagpipes. Great photos.

It *is* a terrific parade, CG! Every year there's a great mix of creatively decorated floats (lots with flowers, with I LOVE), a great variety of bands and other assorted contingents.

And the crowd itself is as much a part of the experience as the parade that passes by!

Wonderful Greg!
You captured the scene perfectly.
Helps those who are not accustom to such parades.
Hope you celebrations were funfilled and meaningful!

What fun! I, too, was excited to see the bag pipe brigade. Though I'm generally not fond of parades, but seeing these photos makes me wish I'd been there.

I had to chuckle when the pipe & drum band was walking by that wee girl with her hands over her ears! What a hoot. Their ears are so sensative to sound that what we hear as moderately loud is way too much sound for them.

Nice job capturing the parade on film.

Butch, the next contingent after the pipers was the honkin-loud firetrucks, who really like to whoop it up near the parade's end...so that poor kid was dealing with all kinds of noise.

It's good you mentioned that; I'd kind of lost the memory of just how loud the parade could be when you were little. A good example of how one's hearing changes over the years!

Now that's a parade! Marvelous photos and slide show, Greg, colorful and entertaining. I'm partial to the classic cars... and lifeguard. Nice garden float.

I block my ears too when sirens go by.
