Big Pear

We have this great big, nay, giant pear tree outside the function hall at work. Who knows how old it is, but it stands taller than the building, and is, I believe, a remnant of the farm that used to be on the property.

Only as I was preparing these pictures of it did I realize I'd not taken a long shot of this tree...which is a shame, because it does have a unique profile. I'll try to do better tomorrow.
In the interests of equal time, I must also admit this tree can be kind of a pain in the ass. It spreads over the far end of employee parking and in the fall its excess fruit can make the pavement kind of mashy...not to mention that I constantly hear them dropping onto the roof and on cars while I'm in the office in autumn. But days like today...with blossoms like these...certainly make up the balance.
