Coming Attractions

Meanwhile, in a break from the rain in late afternoon, I was "prowling" the front garden bed, and discovered a pair of sunflower seedlings--the first to emerge, from right where I planted them! Don't tell the squirrels, please!

Not far from those sunflower seedlings grows this great foxglove. It's height has double in the last day or so, it seems. This day of heavy rain seemed to bring similar results in many places, as I discovered the bee balm out back had shot up again, and even more of those yellow daylily plants are sending up tiny bud clusters. Just imagine what a little sunshine will do next week.
