You've captured the whole range of the hue in this little vernal trifecta, Greg. Lovely.

I am amazed how close you can get to these low-lying flowers. I can not kneel or squat with an artifical knee and I try and get as close as I can with the camera hoping that the object I am photographing, is actually in the picture.

This group of pictures with the sun playing on their leaves is very nice. ( I like purple as well.) ;)

Sorry to hear about your knee, Butch. I would be taking some very different photos in that position, myself (and you shouldn't think that I DON'T look at my pictures later and sometimes wonder just what it was I was aiming for, anyway...)

For now, like Patrick and his violets, I just love to get right down on the ground with those beautiful flowers and count my blessings that I can!

Fantastic! Yes, that is the color I was trying to capture with my violets; you've gotten it beautifully. Then the other flowers in addition... just gorgeous. I was wearing a purple shirt today, and as I walked around in Park Slope, Brooklyn, I kept seeing almost exactly the violet shade all over the place. Other people's clothes, window displays, posters, window boxes (there are some flowers, petunias I think, that are spectacular), it was just everywhere. I'd love to know why my eye was noticing it today more than usual.

Thanks. This was my second knee replacement and third and final knee operation. Generally, it's a very successful operation statistically, with a 96% success rate. Unfortunately, I fell into the 4% range. Such is life. I'm glad I can come to your site and enjoy some "down close" picture taking. ;-)

Patrick, I thought I'd finally nailed it, but I'm glad to hear you concur! It's a very purple time of year, what with the violets and hyacinths and pansies and tulips and all--I'm glad to hear that's spilling over into everything!!

French Air, welcome! Hope you'll come back again soon!

And Butch, I'm happy to share the close up view! Enjoy!
